Ibrahim's story

This is Ibrahim, 40, from Tombo Western rural area in Sierra Leone. He is married with 3 children between the ages of 1 and 15. He began this business because he wants to create a permanent source of income to take care of his family. Ibrahim runs a general stock business; he sells drinks, cigarettes, biscuits and soap. He has been running this business since the end of the rebel war. He works at the business every day, 12 hours per day. He says that the main challenge to his business is the high rate of theft within the community. Ibrahim has requested a loan in order to purchase items such as drinks, cigarettes, pure water and mayonnaise.
