A loan of $1,400 helped to purchase more beans, 'gari' and bags of groundnuts for resale.

Joseph's story

Meet Joseph. He is 31 years old and comes from Waterloo eastern area in Freetown. He is married with two children ages 5 years and 9 years. Over the past 10 years, Joseph has established his local food business. He began his business because his parents did not have money to sponsor his education so he decided to go into business. He works at the business from 8:00 am until 7:00 pm, 7 days per week. He says that the main challenges to his business are storage facilities and high cost of transportation.

Joseph requires a loan in order to purchase more beans, 'gari' (cassava couscous) and bags of groundnuts for resale. He hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow him to empower himself and increase his business. In the future, Joseph plans to build a big house. He thanks you for your support.
