A loan of $400 helped to purchase a sewing machine and cloth.

Pan's story

Mr. B. Pan is a 43-year-old fisherman who lives in Chyroe2 Commune, Kampong Cham Province. He fishes in Trohs Lake near his village, and his wife sells fish in the market. He lives with his wife and three children, one of whom is working as waitress in a restaurant. Mr. Pan and his wife are pictured.

To add income to support her family, Pan’s wife is opening a small tailoring business. She faces the obstacle of lacking money to purchase a sewing machine and cloth to sew. Pan decide to request a loan for his wife’s business, and he plans to use the remainder of the loan to purchase fishing tools such as a net and resin for caulking his boat.
