A loan of $2,100 helped buy two Janome sewing machines so she can open a shop.

Shoista's story

Shoista is a married woman. She is 45 years old. She lives with her husband and two sons in the city of Khujand. Her husband remodels apartments. Her sons are grown and independent. They are 28 and 26 years old. One is a driver and the other a teacher. Shoista is, by nature, an enterprising and capable woman. She has eleven years of experience as a seamstress. As a child, she loved to watch her mother sew dresses and tailor. She learned the profession from her. Now, Shoista has decided to open her own sewing shop. She has her own supplies in the form of a sewing machine, the necessary tools, and room to work. Shoista is asking for a loan to cover the rest of her expenses. She's going to buy two Janome sewing machines and start her business. Shoista plans to take orders for traditional dresses, suits, and pants. She believes in the success of this business, and she already has her first customers. These new customers are, of course, relatives, neighbors, friends, and acquaintances.
