A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase a heifer and some forage for the livestock.

Susanna's story

Susanna is an experienced agronomist from the village Achajour in the Tavush region. Her family consists of her husband, her school-age son and daughter, and her elderly father-in-law.

Susanna, with the help of her family members, is engaged in breeding cows, sheep, hens and turkeys. She is also cultivating wheat, grass and several fruits (plum, fig, blood orange, grapes, apple, pear and walnut). Farming is the only source of income for the family. Susanna's husband helps her sell the agricultural products in the local market.

As the family's needs are increasing day by day, they need to find more sources of income to cover their basic needs. For this reason, Susanna needs a loan of USD 1,000 to purchase a heifer and some forage for the livestock. As this is her first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before, because they have no credit history. Susanna and her family will be very thankful to the lenders for their good will in helping them collect the needed loan.
