A loan of $4,100 helped a member to buy a motorcycle for a transportation business.

Mbuni Group's story

Rehema is in her mid 40s and is married with four children who are still going to school. She has been selling water, sodas, juice at wholesale price for six years now. She works from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Rehema's 16th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to sell cooking oil, which she used to collect from upcountry. She also sold cosmetics, water, juice and sodas which she sold at wholesale price. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to pay school fees, household expenses, bought a farm and started building her house. She will use this loan to buy a motorcycle for a transportation business. She dreams of finishing building her house.

Rehema will share this loan with her loan group "Mbuni" which has six members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
