A loan of $1,500 helped to buy soybean husks.

Nathy Reina's story

Nathy is a 45-year-old woman who has succeeded in getting ahead despite being abandoned by her husband eight years ago. She was left with the responsibility for their children, who are school-aged and attend school regularly even though they wish to help their mother in her work. Nathy produces cheese, for which she has five dairy cows. Her children help her feed the cows and collect milk. The cheeses are sold in a local market in the area in which they live.

Nathy will use the loan to buy soybean husks to feed her dairy cows, since she had some unexpected expenses when her younger son fell ill. He is now in better health, but those expenses meant that Nathy fell short in being able to purchase the feed for her cows.
