A loan of $725 helped to buy soda and beer for her business.

Maria's story

María, 46, is hardworking and enterprising. She is married, and her five children live with her in their own house. María is a multifaceted person with a good sense of business; she has already grown several seasonal businesses, including her main business selling various brands of bottled soda, beer, and water. She places wholesale orders with a distributor and then sells the merchandise from her house to neighbors and passers-by. She used her savings to buy a refrigerator for the business, which she has been operating for five years. She also prepares and sells food. She would like to open a bar some day where she could more easily serve her customers and make them comfortable.

She hopes that her efforts will produce great results, though right now she just wants to keep growing. She has applied for a loan of S/. 2000. She is very happy to know that funding will be available and that she can feel certain that her business will grow. She promises once again to make her payments on time. She will use the loan to buy soda and beer to keep working.
