A loan of $1,050 helped to buy fabrics for sewing women's pants for the fall season.

Asel's story

Asel is 31 years old, divorced and raising two children by herself. In search of income for her family, Asel started a small business in sewing women's clothing in 2008 after her divorce with an initial sum of 5,000 som (KGS). The business is very good, but more importantly Asel enjoys her sewing work that yields her a monthly income of 8,000 som (KGS). In order to further develop her business, Asel requested a loan in the amount of 50,000 som (KGS) from the microfinance bank "Bai-Tushum and Partners" to buy fabrics for sewing women's pants for the fall season. Asel wants to use the earnings from this loan to expand her business and also to save money to buy two additional sewing machines.
