Omm Saikrishna Self Help Group's story

Omm Saikrishna Self Help Group consists of nine women from a village in Odisha. They formed a group to help themselves to share their problems and to solve their problems among themselves. One of them is Nandini, who was selected as the president of Omm Saikrishna Self Help Group. The lady sitting second from the right side in the photo is Nandini. Nandini is 25 years old and is staying with her husband and her 5-year-old child. Her child is in school. She hopes to see her child as an officer in a company. She has three acres of land in her village and she is using her land to grow sugarcane. Her husband is supporting her in this activity. She has requested a loan of 135,000 INR, which will help her to purchase the required resources for sugarcane cultivation. She says a portion of the loan will help her to purchase sugarcane plants, fertilizers, and insecticides, and to cover operational expenses like labor charges.
