A loan of $950 helped to buy two calves.

Lilian Del Carmen's story

Lilian, 55, has a partner and has four children, of whom only her 17-year-old daughter lives with her and the others grew up and moved out. Lilian did not have the opportunity to study, her partner meanwhile is a farmer. Lilian has been working the land with her husband for 20 years, it was with him that she learnt this trade as she didn't know her father. Before having a family, she worked as a laborer in the cotton plantations.

The loan will be used to buy two calves, Lilian asserts that at this moment in time, agriculture is not as profitable, they only harvest for their own subsistence. The high prices of supplies and the low value of her produce have led her to take the decision to invest in cattle which will generate an income to improve her living conditions.

Lilian dreams of having cattle and improve her family's diet with dairy products.
