Sabaty Group Ii's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you members of the “Sabaty II” group.

These ladies are small-scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to apply for a loan of SLL 500,000 for each in order to invest in their respective businesses.

Mariama is the featured leader of this group. Mariama is 47 years old and married, with two children, who are attending secondary schools. A native of Sandor, Mariama has been a businesswoman for five years. She sells rice, groundnuts, beans, etc.

With her share of this loan, she is going to buy the above-mentioned items in bulk to add to her current stock.
