Gia is a 39-year-old married man. He lives with his wife and daughter in a small village in the Kvareli district. His wife trades in clothing and earns 200-250 GEL per month. His daughter is an invalid and gets a pension of 70 GEL per month for medicine. Gia is involved in agricultural activities. In particular, he has a 0.35 hectare of land where he grows maize to sell. In addition, Gia has a horse and brings wood from the forest by horse to sell. As the existing income is not enough for the family, Gia requested a loan to purchase two cows. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo, enables him to get a loan of 4000 GEL to purchase cows. As the cows are purchased, they will start producing dairy products to sell. The Start Up program will be a great support for his family.
