A loan of $1,100 helped buy merchandise such as sugar, rice, milk etc.

Felicitas's story

Felicitas is 34 years old and married to Melquíades with whom she has a son. They live in their own house. Felicitas earns her living selling groceries from her home as there aren’t many of this kind of business in her neighbourhood. She started out with very little stock and a lot of fear that she would lose her money, but fortunately all went well in the first months and she gradually managed to build a good business.

Felicitas currently offers a good range of basics such as vegetables, cereals, and all kinds of drinks. She generally buys the merchandise at wholesale prices as that allows her to have a well-stocked store most of the time, and she also benefits from lower prices. Her main customers are her neighbours and friends who frequent her store for the good service she provides.

This is Felicitas’s first loan with Kiva. She hopes that people will trust her as the money will be a great help with the business. She is seeking 3,000 soles to buy products such as rice, sugar, milk etc.
