Josefa Jesús's story

The "10 de Noviembre" communal bank meets every fortnight in the Montecristi canton, known for its rich, pre-colonial culture, and for its artisan products, which are known at both national and international levels. It is from here that the famous Panama hats originate.

Josefa is a great housewife and, in order to earn her own income and help her children to get ahead, she sells all types of clothing, as well as Avon and Lebel products (beauty products, make-up, perfumes, and women's accessories). Josefa sells door-to-door and works every day, particularly in the mornings when it is cooler. In addition, Josefa has customers who come to her house to buy products. Josefa sells on credit and collects payments every weekend. She has been doing this work for over eleven years and it is going very well for her.

Josefa will use this loan to buy perfumes, creams, make-up, and clothes. She has been with the communal bank for seven years and likes it because of the help she receives through loans.

Josefa's dream to give her children the best.
