A loan of $550 helped to buy drinks for her food stall.

Manuelita's story

Manuelita is 28 years old. She is married to Enos, a farmer, and they have two children, aged eleven and four years old each. Manuelita and Enos love their children a lot and they live comfortably in their own house. Manuelita makes a living selling fizzy drinks and meals out of her house. She saves up money in order to continue investing in her business. Every day, Manuelita sets up outside her house to sells her food, and provides a warm welcome to her customers. Manuelita has been doing this work for over six years. She likes her business as it gives her the income that she needs to get ahead. This will be Manuelita's sixth loan with Kiva and she is applying again in order to make her plans become a reality. Manuelita is grateful to be able to count on a loan in order to continue with her business.

With this loan of 1500 Nuevo Soles, Manuelita will buy drinks of various flavours in bulk in order to have a higher income and to invest more in her meals.
