A loan of $275 helped to buy more palm oil, beans, imported oil, etc., to resell.

Edwina's story

Edwina lives in New Kru town. She is 33 years old, single, and has three children between 3 to 15 years old, all in school and living at home.

Edwina was unfortunate in not being able to attend school, but she has been keeping herself busy with business over the past 12 years selling palm oil, beans, imported oil, etc., in the local market. She started this business with a little money from her mother.

She said that fewer goods on her table are the only business challenge she faces now. She likes her business because it is affordable, and she learned this way of selling from her friends.

She said I am proud of my business because it is the only means of I and my family surviving. With the loan, she is going to buy more palm oil, beans, imported oil, etc., to resell.

Her plan is to increase her sales even more.
