Miatta's story

Miatta lives in New Kru town. She is 42 years old and she is married. She has four children between 26 and 16 years old. Two are in school and live at home.

She did not go to school, so she decided to keep herself busy with business by selling food like peanuts, pepper, beans, etc. to improve her life. She started this business with a little money from her husband eight years ago. She said that fewer goods on her table are the only challenge she faces now. She likes her business because is affordable, and she learned this way of selling from her friends.

She said she is proud of her business because it is the only means she has of helping her children. She said that with the loan she is going to buy more peanuts, pepper, beans, etc. to resell. Her plan is to increase her sales even more.
