Fanta's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 47-year-old Fanta from Waterloo Eastern area in Freetown. She is divorced with 4 children between the ages of 13 years and 27 years old. Three of her children are attending school. She started her business because she needed to create a permanent source of income to support her home.

Fanta runs a spare parts shop; she sells engine oil, rings and motor batteries. She has been running this business since 2007. She works at the business seven days a week for twelve hours per day. Fanta says that the main challenge to her business is transporting her goods from the city to her business place.

Fanta has requested a loan in order to purchase engine oil, farm belts, and motor batteries for resale. The extra income from this loan will allow her to buy a plot of land and renovate her house. In the future, she plans to build a permanent business location. She thanks you for your support!
