Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you members of the Leh We Pay Group. These are small-scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT and Kiva lenders to apply for a loan of 400,000 Sierra Leonean leone (SLL) for each in order to invest in their respective businesses. Yei is the featured leader of this group. Yei is 50 years old, married, and has four children: two in primary school, one in secondary and one in college. Yei sells palm oil, onions, Maggi (used to give sauce a sweet taste), salt, pepper, etc. and has been a businesswoman for 15 years now. She has requested this loan in order to buy palm oil, onions, Maggi, salt, pepper, etc. in bulk to add to her current stock.
