Razia's story

Razia is a 52-year-old, vigorous, married woman, and mother of six children. She has had a hand-embroidery business for the past fifteen years. Two of her daughters also assist her in making beautiful patterns. She is zealous about her work, and client demand is strong. But business challenges, combined with family expenditures, frustrate her nearly every day. Razia’s embroidery patterns are very popular on her street and she is the highest income earner in her household. She wants to grow her business, so she requested a loan of 30,000 PKR to buy raw materials such as different colored thread, sequins, and pearls. The loan will help her complete her customers' orders on time. She dreams of opening her own shop in the market to display her work.
