Maha is a 35-year-old married Lebanese woman living with her husband and three children attending school. She has owned a bakery since 2010, where she produces appetizing pastries.
Maha works really hard in cooperation with her husband, who works outside Lebanon to help the family live in good conditions. Today, given that her children will enter school very soon, Maha is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to register them at school and purchase their books.
The parents’ only target is to provide their children with a good educational path until graduation and help them become able to get good jobs that will give them a good income.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
