Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Grigol's story

Grigol is a 57-year-old married man. He lives with his wife in a small village of Zestaponi district. Grigol is involved in agricultural activities. In particular, he has three cows and three calves. His wife produces cheese to sell. In addition, Grigol has a vineyard and sells wine.

Grigol requested a loan to start a new business. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative between Kiva and Credo, enables him to get a loan of 3,000 GEL. With the received credit, he will rent a space, renovate it, and open a shoe workshop.

He had worked in a shoe workshop and is experienced in this field. He will get orders to make different kinds of shoes. The Start Up program will enable him to be involved in his own business and thus increase the income for his family.
