Farzana's Group
In this Group: Farzana, Allas Jannies
Farzana is a 38-year-old married woman living with her husband and four children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan.

Her husband drives a van in Lahore city where he provides the services of pick-up and drop-off to female students. In the evening he uses his vehicle for loading and unloading in the market. Due to continuously working the van has gotten depreciated and there is an urgent need for maintenance.

Therefore, her husband came along with Farzana and requested a loan from Kiva partner BRAC Pakistan which is the field partner of Kiva. Farzana hopes that through this amount her husband will be able to repair the van so that he can drive it again.

Farzana belongs to a poor family and her husband is the only earning person and he does not have any other source of income.

Farzana seems very glad and says thanks to Kiva and its field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
