A loan of $1,200 helped a member to buy fruits and vegetables for resale.

Kushinga Kwemadzimai Group's story

This is 32-year-old Florence from Murehwa, a village 75 km northeast of the capital city, Harare. She is divorced with three children, two of whom are attending school. Florence runs a vending business selling fruits and vegetables. The business has been in operation for 12 years. She says the main challenge she faces is a lack of adequate working capital to buy fruits and vegetables. Florence has requested a loan of $400 to buy fruits and vegetables for resale. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to improve the family's general welfare. In the future Florence plans to own a fruit and vegetable retail shop in town.
