A loan of $3,475 helped a member to buy beauty products to sell.

Las Empresarias Group's story

Communal bank “Las Empresarias” [Entrepreneur women] is composed of eight members; six women and two men. The bank’s president is Mery, 23, who sells cosmetics from a catalog. She works as a street vendor and sells her products by visiting private and public companies, and different neighborhoods.

This is her first loan with the institution. Mery will buy cosmetics that are on sale in order to stock her business. She is thinking of having a wider variety of products to satisfy her customers’ needs. Mery faces some challenges with her business, such as giving her customers a good service. The benefits from this loan will help her improve her family’s quality of life, being this the only activity she has to support herself and get ahead on her own.
