A loan of $950 helped to buy farming supplies to help with the upkeep of her coffee crops.

Yeni Carolina's story

Yeni is a young 25-year-old woman who studied up to sixth grade and has a 4 year-old daughter who was born prematurely and therefore needs special care. She lives with her two brothers, one of whom is married but does not have children and the other is single. Both of them work in agriculture. She works growing coffee, a trade that she learned as a child and now carries out with her husband to support their family. Her income to support the family and her daughter come from this work which has been the sole source of income for the family for many years. The land that they grow on was given to them by her parents and part belongs to her husband. The land is located about an hour and a half by foot from their home, and this is how the get there as they cannot afford to buy a car. Her dream is to fix up the house that she inherited from her father, which is where they live, as it only has one room, and she wants to split it so that her daughter can have her own bedroom. She believes that she will be able to do this by improving her crops and learning how to run her business. She is requesting a loan from COMIXMUL to buy supplies such as manure, leaf fertilizer, fertilizer, coffee formula, and insecticide so that she can attend to her crops better.
