A loan of $1,600 helped to buy tools and equipment.

Luz Andrea's story

Luz, 29, is single with no children. She wants to start her own business because finding employment has been difficult and her family is going through a precarious economic situation.

She wants to set up a beauty salon in a locale her grandmother owns so she can put into practice the knowledge and experience she gained when she took beauty courses in a school. She’s an enterprising, active, driven, persevering person.

She requests the loan as support to implement her business idea because even though she already has the space, she still needs to buy barber chairs, mirrors and work tools (scissors, brushes, hair dryer and hair straightening iron) in order to start generating income needed for family support.

Luz dreams with strengthening and accrediting her business so that it will become well-known in future both in the sector and city-wide but she’s aware that in order to do so she must work hard with effort, dedication and much discipline. Only thus will she get the expected results and be able to generate higher income to give her family higher standard of living and well-being.
