Manana's story

Manana is a 57-year-old woman. She lives in the Zestaponi district. Manana works as a nurse at the local hospital and earns 240 GEL (Georgian Lari) per month. She decided to start an additional business and begin trading linens and dishes. This will be a new business for her as she has no experience. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and MFO Credo, enables her to get a loan of $650 for stock. She will go to Turkey and purchase linens and dishes from the wholesalers and then sell them in Georgia to buyers in her district. This will increase her income.
