A loan of $375 helped to buy varied clothes.

Ketty's story

Ketty, 32, is a kind woman living with her husband with whom she has a little girl they care for in her mother’s house. Thanks to her good education and the effort she put in with her parents every day, she learned to be a hardworking, striving woman. She comes from parents who work in agriculture and that motivated her to go into the business of buying and selling clothes. “In the beginning I sold house to house to neighbors at the beach and gradually I increased my capital,” she affirms. Now, she sells assorted, imported clothes in the street markets in San Ramón on Fridays and in La Merced on Saturdays. She comments that she does very well so she’s anxiously awaiting being able to improve her working capital to bring new styles of clothes because her customers always want to be ‘in style.’

This is her first Kiva loan and she feels fulfilled and happy because she hopes to get the loan to continue towards her objectives. Therefore, she promises to be punctual with her payments. Ketty will use the 1,000 soles to buy assorted clothes to supply her customers.
