A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase a new car.

Jose's story

José, 42, is a responsible man. He lives with his 2 children in the house that he inherited from his parents, where he has lives since he was born. Since he was young he learned everything necessary to continue with his parents' work, agriculture. He confesses that he has not yet left this economic activity which until now has provided him the opportunity to cover some expenses.

When he had his family, he thought about saving for the future and to continue investing for it. Together with some partners he began buying and selling cars of different brands and prices; which is his main economic activity. “At the beginning it was very difficult but as the years passed I learned a lot and now I work alone and obtain more earnings because I have my own working capital,” he says. The main factor for his success he says was the administration of his businesses, “without mixing,” he says laughing. Now he opened a leather factory where he hopes to sell a lot of leather to clothing manufacturers.

This is his first loan with KIVA. He promises to be punctual with the monthly payment. He works with a lot of care and all his time working with the communal bank he has demonstrated to be responsible and supportive.

José will invest 3000 Peruvian Soles to purchase a new car.
