A loan of $600 helped a member to buy more food ingredients to make porridge.

Chanthy's Group's story

Originally from Thmor Koul district of Battambang province, Chanthy is married and blessed with three children. Currently, only two of her children are still dependents as they are in school. To tackle the family’s financial burden, Chanthy is running a small food stall as her main source of income.

This is not Chanthy's first microloan through VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). Her previous loans have enabled her to support her business on time and keep her children in school. For this cycle, she has formed a two-person group to apply for a new loan. As the leader of her team, she will spend her portion of the loan to buy more ingredients to make porridge to sell. She hopes to gain a good income and keep her children in school until the tertiary level.
