Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $500 helped to buy new trousers, shirts and blouses.

Alba Rosa's story

Alba is 39 years old and is married with 2 children. She has been in business for 5 years selling new clothing. She started her business selling bulk grains and gradually with a lot of effort and hard work she was able to introduce other products, which has been beneficial for her customers and her family. She gets help from her husband, who helps her financially with the household running costs.

Alba is asking for the loan to buy new trousers, shirts and blouses, so she can satisfy her customers. She thinks that with the loan she will be able to get lower prices by buying wholesale. Her plan for the future is to improve the infrastructure of her home. Her next goal is to expand her business and sell domestic electrical appliances since there is a lot of demand for these products.
