A loan of $500 helped to buy medicine, pay for doctors visits and exams.

María Elena's story

María Elena, 42, is a mother of three children, two of whom are minors under her care studying in elementary and high school.

She graduated as a primary school teacher and has worked in this profession for the past 14 years at a school in the Rio Grande region where she also lives.
The village is located 12 kilometers from the El Sauce municipality. It is named this way because there is a huge river that divides it from the Archuapa municipality.

María Elena is very grateful to the Kiva investors and Ceprodel for supporting her in receiving her first loan which helped improve her health. She was unable to cover these costs just with her salary.

Recently she returned to the Ceprodel office requesting another loan to buy medicine, pay for doctors visits and exams. Her goal is to improve her health and be able to perform better at work which is what allows her to put food on the table since her sons depend on her solely.

She puts her hopes in God and these good hearted people that they keep supporting her and many other families.
