Faauliuli is a 39-year-old single lady with two children. She would like to start a small business in Elei (printed fabric designs). In order to do this, Faauliuu needs a loan to buy stencils, fabric color paints, brushes, materials and elei carved design board. She hopes to use her profits to save for her kids' education. She became a member of SPBD in 2013.
South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) improves conditions for families living in poverty by providing accessible credit, training, and guidance to help them start, grow and maintain micro-businesses, build assets, finance home improvements, and afford to educate their children. 99% of SPBD’s loans go to women, who can borrow in groups to guarantee one another rather than put up collateral.
