Thanapati Self Help Group's story

Sukanti is a 47-year-old lady living with her husband and her son, aged 21 years, who is studying in college. She has two cows and sells milk in her village. Her husband is a farmer who helps Sukanti in her business. Sukanti's monthly income is very low. That is why she is unable to give more money to her son to get admitted to a good college.

Sukanti has formed a group that is called Thanapati Self Help group (SHG). All the members of this group are women engaged in different kinds of activities, like milk selling, vegetable selling, flower selling, etc. All the members of this group are very cooperative with each other.

Sukanti, along with her group, has requested a loan amount of 117,000 INR (Indian rupees) for purchasing a cow and fodder. She has a dream to educate her son and give a better standard of life to her family.
