Sri Basudev Self Help Group's story

Kanaklata is 41 years old and lives with her husband and her two children. Kanaklata is running a small grocery shop that she started two year ago to support her family. Her husband helps her to bring grocery items from the market, as he is a farmer involved in vegetable cultivation. Both earn 4,000 INR per month, which is very low. That is why she wants to expand her business to earn more money for her children. Kanaklata has formed a self help group called Sri Basudev Self Help Group with eight other ladies from her village. All members of this group are engaged in different kinds of activities like vegetable cultivation, milk selling, flower selling etc., and all are very responsible and loyal towards their businesses.

Kanaklata, along with her group, has requested a loan amount of 135,000 INR to purchase more grocery items like sugar, oil, biscuits, rice, etc. She wants to educate her children, give them a better standard of living and save some money for her future.

In this group: Kanakalata, Tilotama, Premalata, Prmila, Nayani, Monarama, Tukuna, Jyosna Rani, Ramamani
