Maa Saraswati Self Help Group's story

Mani is a 39-year-old lady living with her husband and her child who is 12 years old and in school. Mani's family income is very low, which is why she started her own business two years ago. She cultivates vegetables in her village and she sells them at a nearby market. Mani's husband helps her. He is also a farmer who has good experience in cultivation. Mani formed a group called Maa Saraswati Self Help Group (SHG) with nine women from her village. All the member of this group are engaged in different activities like milk selling, running a grocery shop, bangle selling and vegetable cultivation.

Mani, along with her group, has requested a loan of 100,000 INR to purchase better quality seeds and fertilizers so she can produce more vegetables to sell. Mani dreams of educating her child and giving a better standard of living to her family.
