Sarkis's story

Sarkis is a 30-year-old man. He lives with his parents and his brother and sister-in-law in a small village in Marneuli district. His father receives a retirement pension. Sarkis is involved in agricultural activities. He has two pigs, a vineyard and 0.8 hectares of land where persimmon trees are grown. He is a very hardworking man and has always high quality products, which are sold to local retailers. Sarkis decided to begin trading in fruits and vegetables and applied for a loan. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative between Kiva and Credo, enabled him to obtaina loan of 2,000 GEL in order to purchase a stock of fruits and vegetables. He will buy and then resell them in various villages by car. The Start Up program will provide great support for Sarkis to increase his income.
