A loan of $225 helped to purchase more palm oil, pepper, okra and rice for her business.

Famatta's story

This is 45-year-old Famatta from Liberia; she is married and her husband is a contractor. They have four children aged between six and 20. All four of them live at home and are currently attending school. She lives in the Caldwell area; this area is becoming one of the populated communities in Montserrado due to some factors such as good roads, quietness, and the lower cost of renting houses.

For over ten years now she has been selling palm oil, pepper, okra, rice etc in the local market. She sells from Monday to Saturday and spends nine hours each day on her business. She stated that her main challenge is the rainy season, but she does make some profits at that time. She started this business with money from her husband, and learned how to run the business from her friends.

She is requesting a loan to purchase more palm oil, pepper, okra, rice etc. for her business. Her plan is to build a house.
