The group Missekple I consists of fifteen people who live in the same village. The representative of the group, named Gagnonsi, is the one whose hand is raised in the photo. Gagnonsi is 53 years old and a widow with four children, some of whom are in school and one is her dependent. Gagnonsi lives with her children. Gagnonsi did not attend school. To provide for her family, Gagnonsi has been selling condiments in the region for fifteen years. At the same time, Gagnonsi also sells corn. Gagnonsi buys goods in a market in Benin. This is the first time that Gagnonsi and the other members of the group Missekple I are seeking a loan from Alidé. This credit will allow them to strengthen their business and increase their capital, in order to better meet customer demand.

Le groupement MISSEKPLE I est formé de quinze personnes qui résident dans le même village. La représentante de ce groupement, nommée Gagnonsi est celle dont la main est levée sur la photo. Gagnonsi âgée de 53 ans est veuve avec quatre enfants, dont certains scolarisés et un à sa charge. Gagnonsi vit avec ses enfants. Gagnonsi n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Pour subvenir aux besoins de sa famille, Gagnonsi vend depuis quinze ans des condiments dans sa région. Parallèlement, Gagnonsi vend également du maïs. Gagnonsi achète ses produits dans un marché du Bénin. C’est la première fois que Gagnonsi et les autres membres du groupement MISSEKPLE I sollicitent un crédit auprès de ALIDé. Ce crédit leur permettra de renforcer leur activité et d'accroître leur fonds de roulement, afin de mieux répondre à la demande de leur clientèle.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
