Matije is 61 years old and lives in the southern part of Kosovo. She and her husband both receive a small pension. Matije has had a very difficult life and is very sad. Her daughter suffers chronically from disease and her only son died during the war. Her son was married just prior to the war and had left behind his wife and a new daughter. After his death, the wife left the home, leaving Matije to take care of the the child. Now she is very busy taking care of the girls and they have very difficult life conditions.
Matije is requesting a loan in order to replace the doors and windows in her house because the house is very old. She believes that the loan will help them to have better living conditions and a better quality of life. That is her goal, along with being able to offer a better education to her granddaughter. She wants to thanks all of the Kiva lenders.
