Irma's story

Irma is a 27-year-old married woman. She lives with her husband and parents-in-law in a small village of Khashuri district. Irma is pregnant. The family is involved in agricultural activities. They have land where maize and haricot are grown. They work hard and always have high-quality products that are sold to local retailers. Irma decided to start an additional business and requested a loan for it. The start-up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo, enables her to get a loan of 1,200 GEL and purchase a cow. They have a shed for the cow in their yard. Irma and her mother-in-law will milk the cow every day and will produce cheese to sell. The start-up program will be a great support for the family.
