A loan of $675 helped a member to buy cassava, plow her farmland, buy insecticide, and pay reaping fee.

Trea's Group's story

Trea is a mother of four schoolchildren, and is in her late 20s. She is a local farmer who does rice cropping and cassava farming, with which she has been involved for several years. It has returned her about 12,500 KHR per day.

This is the first micro-loan for Trea's group, consisting of three borrowers, with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She is seeking 700,000 KHR, while remaining two borrowers are seeking 1,000,000 KHR each.

As a leader, she will spend her loan portion to buy cassava, plow her farmland, buy insecticide, and pay for reaping fee. She hopes that she can gain a good yield from her crop and make more income to relieve her family's burden.
