A loan of $1,050 helped to buy ingredients, tortillas and to pay an outstanding loan.

Catalina's story

Catalina, 31, is a single mother living with her sister and two children in the municipality of Santa Rita, Yoro. She’s been selling corn tortillas and food like fried chicken with fried bananas, filled flour tortillas, fried pork chops and meat turnovers to order for three years.

She’s asking for a 21,000 Lempira loan to pay off an outstanding loan she has with another institution so that she can be solvent and will use the other part to invest in the business. She will buy ingredients like corn to make tortillas and meats, vegetables, green plantain, lard and condiments to prepare her dishes and earn higher profits. Her goal is to continue providing schooling for her children until they graduate.
