A loan of $4,250 helped a member to buy liquor.

Sol Naciente Group's story

The “Sol Naciente” (Rising Sun) communal bank will start the 12th cyle in Pro Mujer as part of the Collpani Focal Center. It has 8 members led by a governing board presided over by Zulma. The communal bank members carry out a variety of businesses among which are: neighborhood store, Broaster-style chicken sales, perfume sales, dairy products production, liquor store, bedspread sales and dental office.

The loan they’ll take out will benefit small micro businesswomen like Zulma. She states that she’s been part of Pro Mujer for six years having joined thanks to an invitation from a friend who is a member of the institution. At present, she has a liquor store. She learned the business from a former tenant she had at home who was in the same business. When he left, she decided to continue with the same business.

The loan she’ll take out now is to increase capital. She’ll buy liquor from wholesalers in the city of El Alto and then sell it in her sales space. This way of working makes it possible for her to generate income to support her home as possible for she’s single and has two children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers the credit training and the health.

In this group: Zulma Roberta , Yohuana, Marisol, Elizabeth, Eusebia , Charles Cristiam , Carla Monica, Maria Olivia
