A loan of $4,300 helped to begin buying and selling cows.

Makhmad's story

Makhmad is a 25-year-old married man. He lives with his wife, son, parents, brother and sister-in-law in a small village in Kaspi district. The family runs a husbandry business. In particular, they have six cows. Makhmad's mother milks the cows every day and produces cheese to sell. Along with this business, Makhmad decided to start a business buying and selling cows. He requested a loan of $4,300 to purchase cows. The Start Up program, a joint initiative of Kiva and Credo, gives him a chance to obtain a business loan. Makhmad will purchase cows from wholesalers and then resell at a higher price. This will increase the income of his family. With increased income, he will provide better living conditions for his family.
