A loan of $1,100 helped a member to buy multicolored paints for writing banners to sell.

Mumtaz's Group's story

Mumtaz is the age of 34, living with her family in the area of Lahore, Pakistan.

She belongs to a small family. She has two children only. Her husband’s income is not good, but due to less family members she can easily manage the household expenses.

She is taking a loan for her husband’s painting shop; in fact, her husband provides the services of banner writing for advertisements or publishing politician’s messages. His writing is very attractive because he has been writing banners for many years and has a great practice doing banner writing.
He uses pieces of cheap white cloth, paint, and brushes for banner writing.

At his shop, only two colors are available for banner writing. Nowadays a theater director gave him a contract to draw the pictures of casted actors, but he does not have multicolored paint canes. Therefore, Mumtaz requested a loan for her husband so that he could buy multicolored canes of paint.

Mumtaz says thanks to kiva and to its field partner BRAC Pakistan.
