A loan of $1,000 helped to buy fertilizer and to pay for labor.

Jorge Lorenzo's story

Jorge, 36, is single. He has two children and lives in the town of Siguatepeque, Comayagua.

Jorge has always worked in agriculture. He has had his own corn, bean, and coffee crops for five years. He sells this product in the same area.

With the loan for 20,000 lempiras [HNL] that he has requested he'll buy fertilizer and soil amendments and pay for labor to maintain the land and be able to get a better crop.

Jorge's plan is to prosper and keep on buying and planting more coffee because it's his only source of income to be able to get ahead.
