Teddy's story

Teddy lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with six children, three of them are in school. She has no additional family members. She operates a bar at the market and sells on a wholesale and retail basis. She has been in this business for the last 20 years. She gets additional income from selling piped water. She works six days a week.

She has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT – SACCO to buy jerry cans of local gin, crates of beer, soda, and local brew. Her major business challenges are defaulters, transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to build rental houses and to only sell wholesale. She lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include medication, school fees and food.
